Wednesday and Thursday of this week (April 1 & 2), Chromebook distribution will continue and will be for all students, Kindergartners through 12th grade that do not currently have access to a device in their home. The hours for distribution are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at all Cheney Public Schools elementary sites. During distribution, parents will be asked to read and sign a mobile device checkout agreement for each device distributed. This agreement can be found attached to this communication and in hard copy at the elementary schools. If possible, please print and complete the form ahead of time. There will be a drive-up option and a walk-up option at each elementary school site. If you are walking, please be prepared to stand outside so we can practice social distancing measures in order to keep everyone safe and healthy. If you are driving, please remain in your vehicle. If you are unable to access one of the elementary schools on either Wednesday or Thursday, the District will be able to assist you in gaining a Chromebook in the near future. At this time, we ask that you limit checking out Chromebooks to one per household for elementary and middle school students. We will continue to offer one Chromebook to each high school student that is in need so that they can meet their credit requirements. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation so that ALL families have access to technology and learning during this time. Teachers are developing printed learning options for students when technology access is limited for any reason. This week Elementary and Middle school printed materials will be available at meal distribution sites on Wednesday. Starting Monday, April 6 printed materials will be available at the meal distribution sites each Monday. These sites can be found on the COVID-19 quick link on the District webpage.
Any questions should be routed through the COVID-19 parent line at 559-4580 or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
